Travel Grants

Deadline: March 31, 2013

Limited funds will be available to help students and young scientists attend the  Meeting. Funds help to offset travel and travel-related expenses. Preference will be given to those presenting a paper. Those interested should submit the application form and required paperwork by March 31.


A bursary scheme for inter-regional travel of students and post-docs attending meetings of Regional Associates sponsored by the IUCr

The IUCr has established a bursary scheme for young scientists attending the annual meetings of the Regional Associates.  more


Session Room Monitors Needed

We are pleased to offer registered Students & Postdocs attending the 2013 ACA Meeting the opportunity to defray meeting expenses by participating as Session Room Monitors. Session Room Monitors operate audiovisual equipment, and room lighting, photograph the speakers (cameras provided), track and record attendance, and perform other tasks requested by the session chairs. Monitors will be compensated at a rate of $10 per hour. You must commit to at least one, full-day (8:00a.m.-5:00p.m. or when the session ends). Positions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to participate, please complete this form and submit it by May 31, 2013 to:  [email protected]

Young Scientists Meeting Orientation

Our focus is to orient new 'young scientists' and first time attendees to the structure of the ACA Meeting and how to make the most of their experience.


Young Scientists SIG Mixer

High energy fun, great food and some of the most exciting venues make the Young Scientists Mixer a great place to connect with scientists ranging in experience and disciplines. The Young Scientist Mixer is one of the meeting's most popular events and is FREE to registered Students & Postdocs (ticket required)


Student Accommodations

Deadline for Conference Hotel Rates - June 18, 2013

The ACA has secured a limited number of rooms for students and postdoctoral associates at a reduced rate at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel.


Room Sharing

Room sharing is an option for those looking to save money on their hotel accommodations. This service is strictly for facilitating contact between roommates and does not guarantee availability.  Once contact is made, attendees will still need to reserve a room directly with the hotel.  If you wish to be listed as wanting to share a room, please send an email containing your name, institute, contact details and gender.  Once you have found a roommate, please contact us again to let us know, and we will remove you from the listing.
