Report of Neutron SIG Activity (2008)
For 2008 the Neutron SIG sponsored the session Structure and Dynamics of Hydrogen Bonded Systems. It also co-sponsored Diffraction Studies of Correlated Electron Systems (with Materials), Molecular Magnets (with Materials), a full days session called Emerging Opportunities for X-ray and Neutron Scattering: New Sources and New Techniques I and II (with Synchrotron), and Materials for Energy Applications (Materials and Powder)
For the 2009 ACA Toronto meeting the Neutron SIG is proposing a session on magnetic structures (probable cosponsors with Powder SIG; Provisional Chair: Bryan Chakoumakos (confirmed)); a session on diffraction studies of the mechanical properties of engineering materials (probable cosponsors with Industrial and Synchrotron SIGS; Provisional Chair Ron Rogge - (confirmed)); a session on Shape-Memory Materials (Provisional Chair: Steve Shapiro (confirmed)) and a session on Macromolecular structures from neutron diffraction (Cosponsor: Biomac SIG, Provisional Chair: Leif Hansen).
The Neutron SIG is also busy in finalizing workshop proposals.
