Small Molecule SIG Report 2008The 2008 Small Molecule SIG officers consist of Kraig Wheeler (Chair), Jeanettte Krause (Chair Elect), and Allen Oliver (Secretary). Preparations for the ACA Knoxville meeting began at the Small Molecule business meeting held at the 2007 Salt Lake City meeting. It was there that the SM SIG decided to sponsor four sessions. The four sessions consist of one individually sponsored session and three co-sponsored sessions with the Materials, Powder, Service Cr SIGs. The Small Molecule SIG was pleased to present Claire Yannette from Georgetown University with the 2008 Student Etter Award for her crystal growth studies of monosodium urate. The business meeting of the Small Molecule SIG was held on Monday, June 1 2008 at the Knoxville ACA conference. Upon approval of the previous year’s minutes, action was taken to establish an ad hoc committee to oversee the selection of nominees for the 2009 treasurer and chair-elect positions.
