CouncilThe Council is the principal governing body of the American Crystallographic Association (ACA), meeting roughly once per month to set policy and provide strategic oversight for the organization. Its elected officers—the president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer—each serve three-year terms beginning on January 1. They are joined by the Canadian Representative and the US National Delegate (USND) President. In addition to its elected officers, the Council includes several ex officio members. The Executive Director serves as a non-voting participant, while a representative from the Young Scientists Scientific Interest Group (YSIG), appointed annually, participates as a voting member. A representative from the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) may also attend meetings in a non-voting capacity.
