Future ACA Meetings 

The American Crystallographic Association plans its major meetings several years in advance to ensure strong scientific programs, accessible locations, and responsible stewardship of resources. While future meeting sites beyond those currently announced are not yet finalized, planning is actively underway.

2027 Annual Meeting

Planning for future ACA meetings is actively underway, with dates to be announced once they are finalized. Current efforts are focused on review and consultation, including:

  • Reviewing survey results and community feedback
  • Consulting with committees and leadership
  • Developing and evaluating potential meeting options
  • Conducting preliminary venue and cost assessments

Recommendations will move forward once this review process is complete.

In the meantime, members are invited to share ideas for potential keynote speakers, session and workshop topics, and networking or social events. This feedback is intended to support Scientific Interest Groups (SIGs) and meeting committees by highlighting areas of interest across the community. It complements—rather than replaces—the SIG-led program development process.

How ACA Plans Future Meetings

Future ACA meetings are developed through a thoughtful, community-informed process. Planning takes into account a wide range of factors to support a high-quality and inclusive meeting experience, including:

  • Member and attendee survey feedback
  • Input from standing committees, SIGs, and ACA leadership
  • Geographic balance and accessibility
  • Venue capacity, cost, and logistical considerations
  • Alignment with the broader international crystallography calendar

This approach allows the ACA to make well-informed decisions that best serve our community.

 

When Will Future Meetings Be Announced?

Meeting locations and dates will be announced once planning and approvals are finalized. Updates will be shared through the ACA website, newsletters, and official communications. We appreciate the community’s patience as this process moves forward.
