It has been my privilege to serve the Canadian crystallographic community through multiple leadership roles within the American Crystallographic Association (ACA) and the Canadian National Committee for Crystallography (CNCC). As past Chair of the Canadian Division of the ACA, I have worked to strengthen the visibility of Canadian crystallographers within the broader ACA community, and as chair of the CNCC, to support students and early-career researchers through workshops and outreach initiatives. My professional activities continue to centre on advancing crystallographic education and research. I serve as Section Editor for Acta Crystallographica Section B and Teaching and Education Editor for the Journal of Applied Crystallography, co-chair the International Program Committee for the 2026 Congress and General Assembly of the International Union for Crystallography (IUCr), and organize the annual Canadian Chemical Crystallography Workshop (CCCW), which provides hands-on training to emerging structural scientists. Maintaining and strengthening the link between Canadian and U.S. crystallographic initiatives is important for fostering collaboration, supporting training opportunities, and promoting our shared scientific values. I would be honoured to continue serving the community in this capacity.
