I am honored to be considered as a candidate for the Small-Angle Scattering Special Interest Group and would be grateful for your support. I am a beamline scientist at NSLS-II LIX beamline, with a background in biochemistry and structural biology. Day to day I help users design and execute SAXS and SEC-SAXS experiments, troubleshoot in real time, and guide analysis and modeling. My research interests include improvement of SAXS-driven molecular dynamics simulations. This blend of experiment and computation shapes how I serve the community: practical, collaborative, and focused on getting the most reliable information from our data.Within the user community, I have enjoyed teaching fundamentals to first-time users and coaching experienced groups on pushing new capabilities, from robust sample preparation to automated acquisition and clean data pipelines. I also collaborate across beamlines and facilities, because I believe our field is strongest when we share ideas and solutions rather than reinvent them lab by lab.If elected, my goal is to make the SIG the place where users and experts find clear guidance, welcoming mentorship, and a path to mastery. I will work with members to publish concise best-practice notes on relevant topics. I also want to strengthen connections with complementary methods—neutron SANS, cryo-EM, NMR, crystallography, MD and integrative modeling—so members can design experiments and interpret results in context. The SIG should be inclusive and useful for everyone. I will prioritize early-career voices through short research spotlights, mentoring circles, and informal code and analysis clinics. I will encourage participation from both academia and industry, and I will make sure our discussions and events are accessible with hybrid options and clear, timely communication. Finally, I will keep the SIG responsive: regular surveys for member priorities, transparent planning, and open channels for suggestions.Thank you for considering me. I would be excited to serve, and I will bring the same energy I bring to the beamline—curiosity, patience, and a commitment to helping people get great science done.
