Structure in Literature [Part 1: “What is a crystal?” and Unit Cell]AUTHOR: Carla Sledbonick KEY WORDS: TBA DESCRIPTION: This series of 3 short lectures is intended to help scientists understand what a crystal represents and the 3 pieces of information needed to describe a crystal structure: (1) unit cell, (2) space group symmetry, and (3) fractional coordinates of the atoms. The information is related back to the Crystal Data Table that is often published with crystal structures.
